about this site
This site is mostly a test. It's to show off cool things:
- It [almost] completely ignores predefined bitmap images, in favor of CSS and vectors. It does what wasn't easily doable 2 years ago, and it's done with next-to-no effort.
- It likes standards [usually], CSS3, and HTML5.
- It likes glowing and shadow effects.
- It doesn't use Google's API services. I love Google, but if Google goes down [it has had problems before!], this place would be hosed, and it would be no fault of my laptop being off. I'd like to limit my liabilities, thank you very much.
- It practically depends on having the latest Chrome or Firefox. IE support is minimal here.
