Details for file extension: WPS - Works Text Document (Microsoft Corporation) - Some versions of Word will open some versions of these Works files; for others a converter may be needed. One is available as the file WP6RTF.EXE from Microsoft. Go to the Microsoft Office main site and search using the words "works to word converter" (without the quotes) and various locations for older converters no longer available should pop up. You can also get the Microsoft Word Viewer 2003 (search like above but for "word viewer 2003") and open the file in that. Then, select the entire file and press Control-C to copy and open another word processor (e.g., the OpenOffice.org suite word processor) and with the blank document active press Control-V to copy to that document. Much of the formatting should remain intact if you do this but, in some cases, some reformatting may be necessary.
